Our rival in the 6. week is Orduspor. Ordusport has risen to the League in the 2011 – 2012 season but I couldn’t go to the match last year because it had taken place on Friday. It shall take place on Friday this year too but this time I am decided to go to watch the match because I want to see Ordu which I had never seen before. Matches on Saturday and Sunday are okey but the matches made on Friday
May be difficult to go because they coincide with the last and consequentşy most intensive day of the week. However I just got on the plane and went there because I didn’t want to have a minus in my continuity card. You have to go to Samsun – Çarşamba airport in order to go to Ordu. I arrived in Samsun after an easy flight that lasted 1,5 hours. A strange feeling of peace of mind takes hold of me every time I come to Samsun, I don’t know why. The fact that the War of Independence has started here gives a sense of trust to me despite the experiences we are undergoing today. I think this feeling is prompted, among others, by the simulated version of Bandırma vessel which encounter us at the entrance of the city and has been constructed in a one-to-one likeliness with the original one.
Since I heard that people beat anyone who come to Samsun and does not eat closed pita I hastily went to the inner city and ate my pita in Öz Terme Pita House: http://www.oztermepide.com/ In deed I had planned to eat the pita in “Dö La Pi” but I preferred this one upon advise of somebody. I must confess that this pita has not led me fly as a person who has eaten it in "Körfez" and "Gülhan" pita houses but I can say that its pita is much more delicious than in many pita houses in İstanbul.
I went from Samsun to Ordu with a midibus which was a little bit larger than a minibus. The driver had opened a radio station in which arabex songs were broadcast. The songs were so exceptional that I didn’t know any of them except the one with the words “my hand and arms are tied, I am helpless my God, you gave life to me and the driver want to take it from me.”
I, who normally would not hesitate to warn the driver, endured these terrible songs which were played for 3 hours throughout the trip because I wanted that everything went allright during my stay in the city for the away match.
The weather in Ordu was a sunny, the type of weather that we call “Match weather”. It was 5 o’clock when I arrived and I hastily ate my meal and stood up to discover Ordu. I must open a big parenthesis at this point. It is really impossible to tell the taste of haddockt in this region. It doesn’t have a heavy taste even it is fried after being coated with cornflour. With one word, it is delicious! All my tiredness caused by the trip has went away when I ate the haddock which I had also eaten in Trabzon and of which taste never went away, believe me.
After the meal I climbed to Boztepe with cableway which was newly put into service. What a Boztepe is this! There is a wonderful bird-eye view of the city from Boztepe. The cableway which you get on on the sea shore and passes by every 30 seconds climbs to the hill ın 10 minutes. Every visitor who comes to Ordu must absolutely climb to Boztepe by cableway. And if you climb just at the time of sunset as I did, you may experience the pleasure of both day and night view as much as you wish.
I only had a time enough to drink a cup of coffee on the hill and I ordered a milky Turkish coffee as always.
The coffe that was served first was cut as I am always used to it. I showed it to the waiters, I explained them what I wanted in detail and insisted on milky Turkish coffee. I am saying this to all waiters who are baffled when I say Turkish coffee: Didn’t your mother cook you any milky Turkish coffee at all, when a guest has come to your home?
And didn’t you drink it with the feeling of happiness that made you think that you had become a grown up person? I experience that feeling of proud in half since only one cup of coffee was cooked for both of us and the two of us had to share it.
Anyhow, after taking a sip from the second cup of coffee I decided not to tire both myself and then and doubled in order to be in the match on time and left Boztepe by cableway again.
That place alight is the stadium. How compact a city, isn’t it? Everywhere is close to everywhere.
Let’s now come to the match. After the tiresome trip to Manchester, our team has got 3 point with three goals in the match with Manisaspor after a good play. It also had to win the match with Ordu despite its tiredness had just went away and there was also a next coming critical match with Braga. However Ordu played such a match that we would not be able to win even if played until morning and actually we were defeated.
The most beautiful thing that may said about this match was being welcomed by a group of fans in Istanbul who shouted the slogan “Your supporter are with you whether you defeat or are defeated, we are besides you both in good and bad times”. This welcome ceremony which I believe to have made happy not only me but also the team was the most special moment that would be remembered about this match since we were not accustomed to such a welcome after returning from a match in which the team has been defeated.
When one’s team is defeated, the article on the match naturally becomes as short as this one. It is time to end my lines with a classical football slogan: “We shall now focus on our next coming matches”
