Bursa

Bursa is one of the deplacements I rarely go. Although Bursaspor has just once become a champion in Super League to the date, it is a team that always play for the top ranks and is the nightmare for the other teams particularly due to its votary fans.  Of course for us as well….
Since we have not won against them nearly for 6 years, it is true that they are successful against us for whatever reason.
When talking about Bursa, I remembered a memory of many years ago and it does not allow me to go to Bursa. I was studying in high school and I was always wearing a yellow-red scarf since I was a fan of Galatasaray as I am now. It was a gift from one of elder buddies from my neigborhood; and it was my first yellow-red scarf, therefore very valuable as it is now. I such doted on my scarf, thus Galatasaray that I got on TV with my scarf when I was selected to make a speech on TV during my years in Beşiktaş Girls High School.
I was accidentally in Bursa one day when there was a match between Bursaspor and Galatasaray. I could not go to view the match but I was aware of the match and wondered the result. Please do no suggest me to view the match through TV, internet, facebook or twitter. Mobile phone was a fantastic dream for us during those years. We were very close to the stadium in a bus. I discovered from the fans of Bursaspor who were rushing into the street and letting out victory yells that we were defeated ‘again’. Meanwhile, one of the fans of Bursaspor saw my scarf and told me to take off it. Aha! To me! Within one instance hundreds of fans surrounded the bus after I was addressed by the first fan and they started to kick the bus. They were shouting, swearing, weaving the bus and pounding the windows.  Everyone in the bus asked me to take off the scarf but I didn’t even if I was very scared. Eventually an uncle took me to the back part of the bus, and hid me to save me from those brutals, who were unable to slow down even if they had got a victory. I was exposed to football terrorism for the first time when I was still a child.
Here is that famous scarf of mine:

I went to Bursa through seabus, which was newly started sailings from Kabataş, Istanbul.  It takes exactly 2 hours to arrive at Mudanya, Bursa. Although it shook a bit, I slept during my trip, which was very comfortable. Since I landed on my feet as always, I met one of my friends and one of her friend took us to Bursa. If not, the municipality busses tak you to every corner of Bursa. Anyway, you can go to Bursa from Mudanya within less than half an hour. The transportation is easy to Bursa but I am not sure if it would be safe if I went there through municipality busses.

As soon as we arrive at Bursa Atatürk Stadium, we had our photos taken while our scarves on us, because there would not be a chance to do it in the evening.

After taking photos, it was the time to eat something. With redirection of some of my twitter followers, I went  to the Uludağ Kebapcisi and it was wonderful.
This time we went to Kebabci Iskender, which dated back to 1864, since we have a friend living in Bursa. http://www.iskender.com.tr/bursa-merkez.html

We lined up at the door before entering the restaurant. The wording ‘how much you want say now, you will not take once again” was true, which were thinking that it was just a joke. When we said, “ah, we are coming from Istanbul, we would like to drink coffe and tea”, the waiter firmly told me that “no coffe and tea here, you should go there if you would like to drink tea” referring us to the tea house at outside.  Let me mention this with twitter language: we were in a mood of a frustrated student who is late and sent to the management by the teacher to receive permission slip.

The Iskender kebap was wonderful but we should not let them to pour the sausage with butter on it. It reminds me itself by dancing in my stomach.

We became sure that we made good choice when we saw a team of Lig TV was shooting there.

Since we had problems to find ticket, some of us viewed the match among the fans of Bursaspor in VIP tribune. When I was entering the stadium, the security guard saw the scarf in my bag and call the authorized manager, and he told me that he had to withhold it. I took the risk of being lynched, would I give them it? Nobody can take this from me, I told. “You can’t enter in, if you do not give it to me” he said. I told him that I would enter and would not leave behind my scarf. He saw a person who is more decisive than him, he accepted me to enter in, but he advised me not to wear it. I would like to say that I would wear it but I am not crazy, I am just passionate.

Bursaspor fired Ertugrul Saglam, the four-year coach of Bursaspor, last week, and took the match under the leadership of the vice-coach Ersel Uzgur. Bursaspor had tranfered a footballer within last week. It is impossible to understand how a team can transfer a footballer without a coach.
This is valid for every team but why do they not understand that the success depends on stability for the teams such as Bursaspor and Trabzonspor, the teams that may compete the 3 strongest teams in Turkey.  Ertuğrul Saglam lead Bursa in being champion for the first time, he realized a dream; he should be allowed to do some permanent things. Again, Trabzonspor fired Senol Gunes; have they hired a better one? Whatever may come, Senol Gunes led the national team to be the third in World Cup. He gained the footballers such as Burak Yılmaz, Selçuk İnan and goalkeepers such as Tolga Zengin and Onur Kıvrak for Turkey.

Anyway, let’s turn to ourselves. Because of the cards, Fatih Terim’s choice of squad was different but Burak Yilmaz was not among the first eleven. Burak is an emotional person; he was very dispirited and reluctant while warming up. The fans of Galatasaray, who saw this, cheered on him twice calling him before the tribune. Since I was just an audience I had to be contended with viewing this scene but did not shoot. I hope Burak perceived this sincere support towards him.

Even Sneijder could not save the match played under the influence of an unbelievable southwester and the match endud up in a draw. We had to accept 1-1, when we did not evaluate the opportunities. Even though 1 point seems to be important in such matches, we felt very sad on the other day for missing the opportunity to draw away, since the other rivals also lost points.

There is no senseless thing such as returning from Bursa via airlines but we returned with an airplane since the scheduled trip via seabus was cancelled because of southwester. In fact, the ones who had moved immediately after the match arrived at the borders of Istanbul until we landed on.
During our return trip, I have never seen Fatih Terim such dispirited and nervous. That is not the point to win or lose but I think he was angry since the footballers did not show a strong struggle and they extenuated the match. I would say that the footballer, who is not with passion even under the leadership of Fatih Terim, deserves a beating you will be cross with me but when Ziya Pasa said “If a gentle warning is not working, try yelling and screaming. If all of the above fails, then nothing is wrong with a good beating”, you take this as a proverb…
Anyway, as all newscasts, let’s finish the article with news on children to conclude the writing well.
Since we transferred world-star Sneijder, I was received requests for jersey, signature, and saying hello, kisses (ok, ok, I have fabricated the kisses).  The most meaningful thing in the airplane was that I had Sneijder to sign the uniforms sent by my friend who live in Netherlands and has 7-year old child.
The moral of th story: It is good to make a child happy, do not neglect it…

Let's have some fun!

The football makes us excited, enthusiased, happy, sorry, relaxed… and makes us laugh. And how laugh! The men of football sometimes make such jokes that they surpass the best comedians.
The speaker who witnesses this immediately catches up. They compete in dropping bricks. Even the coaches, who are known the most sober-minded of the society, make talks that their names are written in gold letters in the funny history of the football. Since the primary actors are the footballers in this issue, they never hand over the leadership to the others.

Actually as you know the footballers start with “as I said” during the interviews. Stop, buddy! Where did you say? What did you say? You have not said anything yet… and also they make a vow saying ‘valla billa’. Ok, well, we believe you; you do not need to swear. Or should we not believe what you say?

Let’s review the uniform end-of-match declarations which I belive they are taught along with the basic football training.

When they win:

- We won; we are happy; now we will focus on the matches going forward.

When they are defeated:

- As a team, we struggled well but the league is a long marathon; now we will focus on the matches going forward.
Of course look ahead. Actually, you are exhausted to play football since you always look ahead, anyhow…

- The important thing is the victory of the team, not my score.
What a lie! Of course the victory is important, why this pomp? If you say the victory is important, why do you get bonus for the score?

- We would like to continue this rising in the next weeks.
...................

- Every match is as a final match…
Maybe there are 10 weeks to the end of the league…

- It was a difficult match; actually there is no easy match in the league.
Then???

- Our rivals play against us with extra motivation for whatever reason.
This is the reproach of the footballer of the “strong team” which is defeated by a weaker team as if asking “why do you play well?” even it is an immodest approach as if asking “did you get a bribe?”.

- The friendship in the team is very well.
Absolutely they had a quarrell during practice or match. Instances of not to reveal…

- The ball did not like us, you can’t achieve whatever you do. They score a goal agains who can’t score a goal.
Look, this is true. As Prekazi said “the ball has spirit, it does not go in the net if it doesn’t like to go".

- We are professional footballers.
Yes, we know this. You are not playing for pebble stones. And this means that who pay more; I will play for him, doesn’t it?

- You know, I never speak about the referees but today the referee was…
You should doubt about the ones who say I won’t marry; I won’t eat; and I won’t talk about the referees!

Let’s see what the persons said:
At the end of a match, Ümit Özat, who is the pioneer in machismo and gender discrimination, said:

- "We will win against Sparta Prag in Sparta.”  Ümit Özat

- Speaker: "Yes, Ümit, Fenerbahçe won with your score today, what would you like to say?”
- Ümit Özat: "I am very happy! Today is my daughter’s birthday. I present this score to my son.”

- "The referee said me “fuck your mother”, I rightfully react him.” Engin, the goalkeeper

- Bülent Karpat: "aaaa Oktay, aaa, you had 2 scores, you scored one more today, now how many scores you have?
-  Oktay Derelioğlu: 3
The match is ok but I wish we know some mathematics…

- ''During my whole life, I have understood that a match may not be won without scoring.” Hami Mandıralı
Guys, you have too much to learn from Hami.

- "To me, the team which lost fewer points not win more points will be champion” İbrahim Üzülmez

Saba Tümer: When did you join the national team first?
 Rıdvan Dilmen: In football?
No one gain the nickname of Devil without doing anything, he deserves this.

- Sabri Sarıoğlu: The important thing was receiving 3 points. (the match ended in a draw)
As you know, Sabri is of another species, needless to say more.

He was a phenomennan while playing football as now, Sergen Yalcin:

- "If Hasan Şaş is a star, I am comet“. Sergen

Reporter: Sergen, what kind of footballer you would be if you run more?
Sergen: I would be a runner rather than a footballer.

Vedat Okyar: Sergen, you are critisized that you do not run, what do you say about this?
Sergen: Dear Vedat, I get tired when I run, nobody understands me…

- "It is not so easy to transfer to Europe. After the match with Germany, Bayern Munich made some researches about me and they did not transfer me”  Sergen Yalçın

- An executive of Beşiktaş: Sergen, it is said that you had been there on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, right?
- Sergen: It is right but not complete.
An executive of Beşiktaş: I don’t understand.
- Sergen: I was there on Friday, too.

Ömer Güvenç: Sergen, You do not smoke or drink alcohol. Why this night life?
Sergen: Nooo, we drink sometimes, it is nice.

Rıdvan Dilmen: Sergen was a leader with his football playing but he did not warn his friends.
Sergen: There were so many that should be warned, I would not be able to play if I tried to warn them.

Sergen Yalçın: I can play football up to I become 40 – 42 year old; I don’t feel tired.
Reporter: Don’t you get tired?
Sergen: No.
Reporter: Why?
Sergen: I have not got exhausted because I did not practice too much.

Reporter: Sergen, what would you like to say about Gökhan and Bobo?
Sergen: Gökhan is a young friend and a good footballer. Bobo, Bobo has a good name.

Report: Sergen, what would you like to say for the ones who are under 18 and bet on football?
Sergen: They should be aware of German League, there are many surprises there.

Football Men;

Levent Özçelik is the first person who comes to the minds while talking about the funny times in relation to football. He is one of the ones who have not come into his own since he has not worked for any private channel and worked for TRT for years.  You will understand what I say when you watch this video:
Levent Özçelik: "Yes, Mr. Çakar, what would you say for this match? Difficult match…"
Ahmet Çakar: "Difficult match… every match is difficult. Actually every match is easy…"
I bow respectfully before this philosophical explanation and do not speak forever…

- "Every team is equally but the strongest three are more equal." Ahmet Çakar

- "You can’t win in this 3-point system, if you do not score” Ümit Kayıhan

- "We bought as goal machine, but found it as a washing machine” Mehmet Ali Yılmaz

- "Casillas is one of the most successful goalkeepers in the field” Ömer Üründül
Someone should tell Ömer Üründül, a team has only one goalkeeper.

- "If none of the teams score, the match will end in a draw”. Ömer Üründül
They say that Ömer Üründül does not know football, as you see, he knows.

- "If they would like to hire a foreign coach for the national team, I also have a German citizenship.”  Yılmaz Vural
I wrote something about Yilmaz Vural in my previous essays. God bless him.

Ümit Aktan: Amokachi put his assets into it.
(When Amokachi put its golden necklace in his uniform in the match between Kocaeli and Beşiktaş)

Ümit Aktan: It is a snowy day. Not all of the snow removed from the field. From here, the field seems to be spinach with yoghurt.

Ümit Aktan: Hells bells, Nielsen! If you are a referee, I am the engineer who constructed the Bosphorus Bridge. (during the match between Galatasaray and Juventus)

Ümit Aktan: In this 90 minutes, against the audiences who are not satisfied with 3-0 against Manchester United, while we were happy with 3-2 in favor of Galatasaray, but now we mope about finishing the match with 3-3.
(The match ended with 3 – 3, but it took him too long to remember it.)

Orhan Ayhan:  I think there is foul, dear audiences. I can’t see well. They give us very bad places to release the match, I mean at the nooks… we are trying to fulfill our job. For example, there is an imposing woman against me now, it is impossible for me to see the field. (the match between Beşiktaş and Antalyaspor)

Ertem Şener: Liverpool rushes into our goalpost. No place left in our mouths since whe have our heart in our mouths, dear audiences.

Ertem Şener: ‘Kaka’ (kaka means "shit" in Turkish) of Milan rush into us dangerously.

Bülent Karpat: They shoot the corner kick at a very threatening place.

TRT speaker Abidin Aydoğdu: The match has ended but we still concede a goal, dear audiences (When the Turkish national team gives away the 8th goal at 90+1 during the match with England.)

TRT speaker: The match between Ankaragücü and Gençlerbirliği was won by the team of the capital city (both are the teams of Ankara).

Is it possible to talk about the funny things of football without Ilker Yasin, the sport speaker? By the way, have you noticed we have not mentioned the slips of Halit Kivanc? Anyway…

İlker Yasin: Beside our valuable guests, there are two more valuable guests.
(That’s to say, everyone equal, but some are more equal…)

İlker Yasin: Effort to develop mature attach with diagonal passes…
(Excuise me?)

İlker Yasin: Hells bells, Hayrettin; I have not even announce the footballers of the teams.
(for goalkeeper Hayrettin, who give away a goal in the first minutes of the match…)

İlker Yasin: Yes, dear audiences, the stranger Negros, the stranger Arabs score a hat trick; while our Hakan and Oktay hit the sheets. (For Oliviera who scored a hat trick in the match between Belgium and Turkey)

İlker Yasin: Yes, Hamit. Do not keep the ball too long. Welldone but not to kick it there. Ah! He gain the ball again. Welldone, he immediately gave a pass. Okan, Okan, run there. Now, return to the backfield. Remove immediately the ball from your hand. Hakan, run towards the left side. Welldone! (The match between Turkey and Denmark on 3 September 2005).
İlker Yasin was a coach but we are unaware of this!..

................

Actually, I was planning to tell you 8 or 10 funny stories when I started my paper but I saw that they went beyond hundreds after I made researches through internet. At this rate, this article will not be completed. The best thing to do is to say goodbye to you with a saying by Hagi who has endless football intelligence and we love forever:

- "The head does everything anytime. It requires a head. But no arse. The arse always sit but the head always thinks. Hagi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAKxBp8wjDMhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAKxBp8wjDM

That is all, is there a better saying more than this that explains which organ should be used in playing football?

The journey of yellow & red scarf

It is the break time but no game is there.
I got bored at home.
We gathered the signed jerseys according to the year and as signed or not, and from the most important to the least important.
Scarves as memoirs and GS scarves were distributed and folded neatly.
All the game date books were tidied and distributed according to their dates.
The game tickets were distributed according to their being foreign or domestic.
Old newspapers were tidied and the newspaper articles of the important dates and events were folded.
The books about sports and GS were distributed according to their colors and sizes.
When there were nothing 3D more to do, I started with the pictures in PC. The d.mned (!) digital technology had erased many of my pictures; however, I put the remaining ones in order. I chose the ones with flags amongst thousands of photos. Although I wasn’t ready to share some ugly photos, I shared them anyway, thinking that no one should be hidden if the god knows them well.

Be my guest please…

December 5, 2006, Champions league, Liverpool game where Ümit Karan was about to write history, and Sabri played a football which is still talked about, the famous 3-2 score game. The second picture shows me in Liverpool scarf, but what can I do? I liked the colors… you could find any colors in Liverpool store although red is the color of the team itself. It is fascinating that those people have developed in football industry, especially when you consider that your designs of orange-purple is criticized.

This photo shows us before the Sion game at UEFA 1. Stage with the excuse of the football pitch being small. Again, we lost 3-2 and this time Servet wrote history (!)

This is from Lisbon, the distinctive city of Europe. We beat Benfica by 2-0 on December 7, 2008 with an excellent game.

This is from Benfica game. I like photos that are taken with a professional camera and are taken nearby the football pitch. Look at the beauty of the colors!... not at me, look at the colors!... ;-))

From our constant temple Ali Sami Yen. Do I have to explain what game it is? If details are necessary, UEFA – October 22, 2009 GS: 4 - Dinamo Bucharest: 1
As you may understand from the colors on me, we were wearing purple that season. :)

This is from the second leg on November 6, 2009. We beat them by a net score of 3-0. Don’t ask me about the cold we felt there.

Bordeux on February 18, 2009. The game ended 0-0, but a 1 point without having a goal in your goal-post is always valuable.
“What is blue man?” In my opinion it is the same: What is blue?..

Another European city as cold as ice: Hamburg. I would be wasted if the flowers did not heat me up ;)

Although we left the game on March 12, 2009 by an advantageous score like 1-1, we lost the game by 3-2 with the last-minute goals although we had been paying well with a score 2-0, and we said farewell to Europe in a melancholy. The above picture is from those happy days…

Galatasaray means love, Galatasaray means passion, but at the same time international football is another pleasure. In İstanbul on May 20, 2009, the UEFA final, we became a little proud of the game in which Lucescu won in Şükrü Saraçoğlu.
In 2005 the famous Liverpool-Milan game was played in Istanbul and I was there. However, the photos were deleted by the d.mned computer. :(

These crazy photos are from Israel, a country which I probably went for the first and last time, from the Maccabi Netanya game in UEFA. Although the game was in Tel Aviv, we went to Jerusalem and visited all the religious centers. The only place where you can make use of the Turkish Passport is most probably Al-Aqsa Mosque. They put only one condition, and guess what it was… I do not step on the scene without my scarf, man!...
Meanwhile, we won the game by 4-1, and in İstanbul 6-0, and we succeded in getting to the next stage…

I don’t know the reason why, but one of the most interesting away games among men is the Estonia game. We went to Talinn with the comfort of having beaten Estonia by 5-0, and on August 27, 2009 we had a score of 1-1 in Levadia game and hardly were able to get to the next stage.

As I recall our dear neighbor Greece. When I see Athens I want to ask how they left that country in such a terrible situation but however, politics is forbidden here. We met with Panathinaikos on September 17, 2009 at UEFA groups and beat 3-1. We won the game in İstanbul by 1-0 and proved that we were strong enough to beat this powerful team of Greece.

Atletico Madrid was a boring team in those times without Arda Turan. Therefore, we left the game by a score of 1-1 on February 19, 2010 at UEFA groups.

Another interesting place is Lvib, Ukraine. However, this time Turkish men have right for this interest. 85% of the population of this country is formed by women and a visit to such a city can be highly regarded as public service, can’t it?

In Karpaty Lviv game on August 26, 2010, we lost our donkey, and then found it, and the lost it again! On August 19, we went to Lviv with a disadvantageous score of 2-2 in İstanbul. We kept the game as scoreless till the last minute and scored a goal at the last minute and became very happy. However, after one minute they had a goal scored against us and we lost the game and the stage, too. Like Prekazi says, “Round is the ball!” :(

Another international game; but this time, we have accompany. On May 9, 2012, our beloved Arda played with the Atletico Madrid colored uniform in UEFA final. We would not be pleased if we didn’t take our places in the stadium with our yellow-red scarves.

As we were all sure, Arda lifted the UEFA Cup in his early age, and made us very happy by giving us his jersey and medal. (I talked about sharing etc. but I was ugly in that photo; so, please make do with this one!)

We have always respected Galatasaray, so we have the right to hold the Cup sometimes… we got the Super Cup on August 12, 2012 in Erzurum and beat our ancient rival by 3-2, and this pleasure is a unique one! Moreover, the Cup was in my hands on plane!..

In this picture we are at Old Trafford. That year we met Manchester in Champions League on September 19, 2012; and although we played well, we lost that game by 1-0. We made history in the past in this same stadium. As you may remember we beat this English giant by 1-0 at our home.

The streets were colorful, and as it is common before every European game, our Galatasaray fans in Europe cheered madly.

This photo is from Braga game. Those who have read my thoughts about this game may remember my ideas. On December 5, 2012, our beloved Galatasaray performs another miracle and leaves its group by winning the last 3 games, although it got 1 point in its previous 3 games, and makes us happy again this year.

With best wishes for us to be happy and smile always and our beloved scarves to travel many more places…

Trabzon

Trabzon, the fortress of "uşak"! (Stop! No offence! By saying “uşak” I mean the male children in Laz language). Trabzon has always been the hardest, and at the same time, the most enjoyable away game. Although there are several planes to Trabzon, I always travel to Trabzon with the team one day before my actual date. This time I found the opportunity to travel with the team because the game was supposed to be played on Sunday. I visited almost every museum and historical places of this city; therefore I just focus on the food. In fact, recently I can say that I just focus on "mezgit". I love this fish so much!
Anyway, let me speak of the team and not let your mouth water.  Recently our relationship with Trabzon have become a little ‘sour’ because of the latest transfers; and with the arrival of Burak Yılmaz, these relationships have become really tense. Selçuk İnan’s contract had expired and Umut Bulut had gone to Tolouse and then back to us; and they had sent Engin Baytar and Ceyhun Gülselam; and they had written “Who brings €5 Million, gets this player” on the contract of Burak, whom they get angry mostly. You take a risk by signing this contract with the most important player of yours and then you get annoyed when we buy him.
The people of Trabzon have seen us as their main problem instead of getting back the cup which had been taken away from them after it was proven by the court that there had been a “match-fixing”; and had given the signals that they would make special (!) preparations for Burak.
When we landed on the Trabzon airport, such an atmosphere welcomed us before the team fans.

I can’t say that the same welcome is true for the fans of the team as well. About 100 Trabzon fans had been de-grouped before we landed by the police. Another 10-15 people insulted Burak. Unlike many “chief managers” I am very much in favor of any kind of protests unless there are any bad words. Therefore I did not get angry with those people. They had missed their beloved top goal scorer, this is not easy.
Hey! the fans of football! Can you now understand Jenifer Aniston who lost his beloved Brad Pitt because Angelina took him away from her? Or let us be more ‘local’, can you now understand Demet Akalın who lost İbrahim Kutluay because Demet Şener took her beloved away? I hope Trabzon fans do not sing “being left” songs to Burak for 10 years like Demet Akalın. I became worried a little when I saw the melancholy and startling expression in Burak’s eyes when he got on the bus. Do not say “He is a professional, he shouldn’t care about it!”, it’s not that easy.

I forgot all my worries when we went out for dinner after arriving at our hotel. As we always did when we came to Trabzon, we went to Galanima. http://www.galanima.com.tr/

Galanima serves us delicious Karadeniz dishes as well as its own menu. This time we had the fried beans;

"mezgit" and "hamsi" with no oil at all although it was fried in a pan;

wonderful Laz patty;

and halva dessert;

and many other black cabbage and fish which we could not take any photographs before we finished without feeling any disturbances in our stomachs. There was a music, which I can say that you cannot find even in İstanbul. Can you believe that this music was performed by only two musicians?

One would want nothing more if he has a beautiful food and music with his lover waiting for him the following day after a good night’s sleep in his warm room. Honestly, I would say ‘food’ again. Because although I had slept late the night before, I still felt hungry at noon and this time I went to the pide house I always visited. "Rüştü'nün Fırını" is a fine place located in Moloz, Pazariçi district which dates back to 1920's. I looked at other blogs and saw that people had taken many photos from inside, outside, upside, front side of this beautiful bakery. I forgot to take pictures as I was so hungry and now I share last year’s photos.

As a person with a sensitive stomach, I ate "pide" with half a kilo of meat and I still can’t say that I had any stomach problems. This statement can help you understand the health of the food if not the quality. After I had my late breakfast at Rüştü’s, I was ready for the famous Kalkanoğlu Pilavcısı (=Rice Restaurant) www.kalkanoglupilavi.com Kalkanoğlu is a rice restaurant that has been active since 1856 at the same place in Trabzon. They sell the rice here in grams in this historical place in scales so as not to be responsible for any rights of human beings. I eat at this place whenever I come to Trabzon, but this time it was closed as it was Sunday. I was sorry to see that, however, I also appreciated this European attitude.
And now the game…

As I said at the beginning, this game was expected to take place in a tense atmosphere, and so we took all possible precautions. By precautions I do not mean stones and sticks to fight with. We removed the GS logo in front of the minibus, and our GS batches, necklaces, etc. and we put on our camouflage trousers and our protective vests and did not speak loudly not to draw attention. OK man, I just love action movies, right? Trabzon spectators had started to ask Burak how he was when teams started to warm up. Oh man, it was obvious how much they had missed him(!); they did not stop during the game.

It would be more effective if they had chosen to whistle instead of swearing when the ball hit their feet each time during the game. Interestingly enough they had funny banners as well.

As I said banners, I must tell you that there were other funny banners as well. Although it was out-fashioned and it turned the stadium into a wedding palace, all in all, it was a good idea.

I don’t know what Sümeyye and Seda told; but, I love these wedding proposals that are made in front of millions of people. The one who should understand it should understand, what more can I say?.. The game ended in a boring football atmosphere and with a free spectator support without any scores. Before the game I had tweeted saying that "the one who had the right should win the game". Both teams played so badly that no one had the right to be the winner, and so my wish had come true. As the famous quotations says, “Beware what you wish!”. As I stated in my previous article, can you look at the posters when Trabzon became the champion last time. It has been a long time, hasn’t it?

Although we speak of Trabzon in this manner, but Schake 04 in Germany, which we choose in the second phase of Champions League, was regarded as the 2nd biggest team in Germany, it last became the champion in 1958. However, it beat Inter and won the UEFA Cup in 1997. Now let us think, which one is a greater success, being a champion or getting the cup in Europe?

Yeah, as I have just said, let me think, but do not disturb me please…
